General William Kip Ward Biography
It is on June 3rd 1949 in Baltimore town, Maryland where the U.S Army General ward was born. He decided to join Morgan State University and got a B.A degree in Political science in the year 1971. During his study at the university, he decided to join the (ROTG). After completing the degree at the university, Ward did not kill his ambition to join the military and this motivate him to learn more at college.
By serving as a military soldier, General E. Ward was required to travel to different nation with the aim of serving its nation. These overseas trips that the general took cannot be takes for granted as the mission given was always accomplished.
Misfortunes started happening to General William Ward when he got demoted for claims that he was using his power and authority to misuse government vehicles and funds. This made him retire as a three-star Lieutenant general. On review of the claims charged on General William Ward, the state ordered him to repay $82,000. This implied that there was going to be a $30,000 retirement salary deficit for the early retirement.
The report showed that the general went an extra mile in allocating his wife a military car for her personal lifestyle. Also, the former General used the government funds to pay for a $750 suite in Bermuda. There were other extra costs of prolonged trips that were discovered in his spending.
However, it was not going to be an easy task for the Washington secretary Panetta to demote the general. To either demote and have him agree to retire as a three-star lieutenant general or give him a better option and allow William Kip Ward retire being a four-star Lieutenant General.
The investigations ended up taking too much time and it ended up making Ward being temporarily dropped to two-star general status. It took 40 years for the general to drop his duties and go to concentrate on his family. During the retirement day, the commander in chief awarded General William E. Ward with a distinguished Service Medal as well as a military services. The state also decided to give the general’s wife a number of awards as a token of appreciation. Ward and his wife ended up making a number of contribution to different children foundations.
